It's not possible. The key used to sign the document remains on your card and never leaves it. Everyone else verifies your digital signature using your public key.
On the other hand, you must jealously guard your card and not reveal your PIN to anyone.
Below are some practical tips for the secure use of your Digital Signature:
Keep the card with you, or in a safe place. You should treat it like your ID or bank card.
Never reveal the password to anyone, nor write it down anywhere. You must memorize it.
On websites or programs that use digital signatures, be sure to log out (if applicable), and always disconnect your card when you're finished using it. Never leave your card connected and unattended.
Protect your card. It contains delicate components that can be damaged by misuse.
This message may be due to the following reasons:
That your certificate has actually expired. Certificates have a validity period (usually 4 years).
If you are sure that your certificate has not expired (and you are sure that you have not revoked it), and yet you receive this error on a specific site's page, we suggest using our page's validation to check the certificate (use the "Certificate Verification" link in the left panel).
If our page indicates that the certificate is valid, it's possible the issue is specific to the page reporting the problem. In this case, please contact the issuing institution.
If all pages return the same error (or report CRL or OCSP errors), it's likely a problem at the Central Bank. Contact the Central Bank's Customer Service Center at 2243-4000.
It is an application developed by the Central Bank of Costa Rica to perform authentication and signing on the different web pages that are consumed, this with the objective of standardizing the authentication and signing method on web pages, since at the moment the platforms use different methods through plugins that are mostly unsupported or close to being so, such as Capicom, Hermes Digital and Java.
Currently, the BCCR digital signature system is being used by various platforms, including websites such as the Central Bank, SUGEF, SUPEN, SUGEVAL, SUGESE, MUCAP (Cartago), Banco General, Coopemep RL, Banco Davivienda, Banco Lafise, Prival Bank, COOPENAE, Banco Promérica, and UCR. Other platforms are adapting their websites to use this application.
The GAUDI agent is included in the main installer packages. When downloading from our website, you must select: Windows Users, Mac Users, or Linux Users, depending on the operating system of the computer where you wish to install it.
In the downloads section you will be able to see the operating systems that can be used and their respective versions.

For security reasons, we always recommend using the most up-to-date version of your preferred browser.
Note: Recently, some platforms have developed signature mechanisms that allow the use of many of the aforementioned browsers for both authentication and signing; one such mechanism is the GAUDI Agent.
We strongly advise against using pirated software. The main reason is security. We cannot guarantee its functionality on an operating system without updates, modifications, or patches not recognized by the manufacturer.
We offer no warranty (implicit or explicit) regarding the functionality of the Digital Signature software on unlicensed software. Any process you undertake is at your own risk.
GAUDI is an application built by the Central Bank of Costa Rica to handle authentication and signing across the websites you use.
Before GAUDI, every platform did this its own way, usually through plugins like Capicom, Hermes Digital or Java. Most of those are no longer supported. GAUDI replaces them with one consistent method.
A growing number of platforms already run on the BCCR digital signature system, including the Central Bank, SUGEF, SUPEN, SUGEVAL, SUGESE, MUCAP (Cartago), Banco General, Coopemep RL, Banco Davivienda, Banco Lafise, Prival Bank, COOPENAE, Banco Promérica and UCR.
Others are updating their sites to support it.
It is bundled into the main installer packages, so you do not need to download it separately.
On our download page, simply choose Windows Users, Mac Users or Linux Users depending on the computer you are installing it on.
